what is campus parliament
hey friends,
m writing on behalf of my entire team. i am purposely not using a formal language since this blog is not meant for professionals.. so.. i guess i should brief everyone what this campus parliament is? .. how did we come up wid dis?? and what grand plans we have for it..
loksatta is a leading marathi daily.. we started a campaign called "pahile te rajkaran" (politics comes first) with the renowned actor Mr. Atul Kulkarni. we went to about 5 colleges and had a discussion with the students over some of the current issues regarding politics.. be it current elections... choosing a right candidate... being politically sensitive... and continue with a political wisdom... Atul Kulkarni along with loksatta campus mood team went up to college students to spread awareness and bring change.. because 'you get the government that you desrve'.. we should be that change that we have been wanting to see..
this campaign was a hit.. people all around the city were enthusiastically getting in touch with us to let us know that they are wid us and we shud take dis further up to a practical level... we also got inputs from those colleges where we went campaigning.. students, professors, parents everyone was keen and genuine in appreciating what we have been doing.. they wanted us to do more.. loksatta editor Mr. Kumar Ketkar had a quick chat wid all of us ( loksatta campus mood team) and he concluded by saying that "lets have something like campus parliament. and one day it should become a parallel government." his words depict the tremendous faith that he has in us..
our team immediately brainstormed about this.. we came up with lots of ideas.. had heated arguments over how it is going to be like?? on our level we want to make a difference and bring change instead of cribbing about the current scenario.. this campus parliament can either be a mock parliament where youngsters come together to share their views.. discuss and debate over national issues.. or it can also be an ongoing process.. the final blue print is still in its primitive phase.. we want inputs from you guys.. what u want it to be like?? what are you expecting from this movement?? (m calling it a movement because i guess it needs to be called "movement" to gain mementum and have a tempo) lets try and make a difference.. lets "be the change that we want to see"
before all this i think we all can make an immediate difference by voting.. go out.. vote.. dont forget 30th April.. dont forget 16th and 17th May.. keep a track of the election results.. follow the news regularly.. cause we need to be aware before we spread awareness.. "practise what you preach".. Mr. Kumar Ketkar sir has motivated us to start off.. hope we do the same for you all.. here we kickstart.. with innovative ideas.. wid an urge to do something.. i know u all are eager to join us.. 'come join the gang and be a part of the change...'
